General Information:
The Flower Show will be held at the Elks lodge on April 25th and 26th. There will be no fee to enter the show. We will have floral displays, crafts, and garden art for sale.
 
Local gardening groups will be on hand to answer questions and provide helpful information that can be utilized in your home garden. We will have  informational seminars covering a variety of topics, as well as a koi demonstration pond!

The hours of the show will be 9am to 5 pm.

Entries:
How does your garden grow? Do you have a green thumb? Why not enter into this year's Flower Show. The community would love for you to share specimens from your garden and entries are FREE!

A Guide To Entering the Flower Show

How do I enter?

When do I submit my entries?

What categories am I eligible to enter?

The show schedule can be found on our website in January. The schedule will list all of the different categories along with rules and instructions for entering. There is no preregistration.  Join our mailing list to receive up to date information!

Entries will only be accepted

Friday April 24th from 4-8 pm

Absolutely NO EXCEPTIONS!

Entries must be ready for judging at 8 pm

All exhibitors and visitors must leave the exhibition area during judging.

The categories are open to everyone! Note there are a few divisions that specify Novice (Never won a blue ribbon) or Advanced (Previous blue ribbon winner).

There are a wide variety of categories:

  • Design

  • Horticulture (Roses, Irises, Succulents, Orchids, etc.)

  • Photography

  • Youth entries

What basic rules should I be aware of before entering?

Do I need to provide a vase or container?

Is there a fee to enter?

  • You are limited to one exhibit per class

  • Fresh plant material only

  • Entries must be grown by the exhibitor for at least 90 days

  • Entries must be clean, pest free, and correctly labeled

Vases are provided for all cut specimens

Entry is FREE to all

How are entries judged and what recognition is received?

  • Entrants will be judged by National Garden Club Flower Show Judge Emeriti Ron and Linda Lang

  • In addition, the plant societies sponsoring the sections will judge those categories (Rose, Iris, Orchid, and Gates Cactus and Succulent Societies). If the rules of these societies conflict with the rules of the Flower Show Association, the rules of the society will be followed.

  • Ribbons are awarded for 1st (blue), 2nd (red), third (green), and honorable mention (yellow)

  • Lorraine Small Award (Best of Section Awards): Judges will select the best entry from each section and winners will receive a gift certificate from a local nursery.

  • Award presentations will take place at 4:00 pm on Sunday April 26

When do I pick up my entries after the show?

Awards must remain with exhibit until the close of the Show.

No entry may be removed during the Show except by permission of management.

All entries should be removed between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm, Sunday, April 26.
Management is authorized to dispose of any properties not called for by that
time.

The Riverside Community Flower Show Association is a non-profit volunteer organization, formed in 1947 to put on a community flower show for the enjoyment of the residents of Riverside County.
